Glimpses of an Imaginary Love Affair
We went out and talked. We smiled and had fun. We got down seriously and settled the true feelings. In the end you chose someone over me and as a man, I respected it and moved on.
Unlike in the past where such a blow would devastate me severely, this time around, I simply looked forward to living life in the way that the Lord willed it to be. I did not demand nor did I show ill-feelings. Even if there were, I just kept them deep inside like a bleeding heart pierced with a dagger.
Everyday, I will see you in my mind. I keep on telling myself of losing someone I cared for so much. But apparently, seeing you are happy is enough reward of showing you I can smile as well. Although it may not be who can make you smile, the important thing is you found your peace and that hopefully you can settle down and follow the life you always wanted.
As for me, I have moved on being happy with what the Lord has given me. While I wished that my life went towards another direction, I have no regrets. I am happy where I am and hopefully these glimpses from our past can serve as lessons for the life journey that lies ahead.
