Carrying Relationships Eternally

One thing that most people want in relationships is that they will last for a lifetime. We all know that this is a rare occurrence considering that people tend to break up even when they get married. But while we hate to think about this possibility, we should learn from the experience of others on how to avoid them.

One thing you need to strictly comply if you want relationships to work is open communication and acceptance. There is this problem that we often overlook. We tend to pretend to give in to the demands of our mate while we are in the boyfriend-girlfriend stage. This is aimed at ensuring our partners that we are giving in to them because we love them.

But once marriage sets in, it is a totally new ballgame. Our mindsets change and principles differ. Why is that? Is it because we already know that we have them tied to us? Just observe people you know who supposedly have long lasting marriages. Cinderella stories suddenly become like the Nightmare on Elm Street. Sad but a fact indeed in society today.
