Expect the Unexpected

Photostream from Parc Cruz

Most people have expectations when falling in love. These expectations come from either previous experiences in relationships or just standards they have made. But when we find that special person, do we still stick to these expectations?

Most of us will end up letting all these expectations go. These expectations wouldn’t matter anymore because the only thing that will matter to us is our partner and the things we will be able to do together.

In every point of our lives, we cannot have no expectations. So what do we wait for or look forward? We should look forward to those unexpected events in our lives. Those events when we do something we never thought we would’ve been capable of doing. Those events that will take our breath away. With our partner around, we are inspired to give them the best of us. We do everything to give all their heart desires.

What pushes us to do these things? It’s called selfless love. We think of our partner way before we even think of ourselves. And in being able to do so, we realize that we are able to reach greater things when we think of others before ourselves. This is another lesson we pick up in loving. Unexpected?

We shouldn’t be selfish. A selfish person in a relationship will end up wanting and needing too much that his or her partner will not be getting anything any longer.

Love isn’t all about being with our special someone. It’s also about growing as persons individually and as a couple. Love should fulfill our needs of happiness and personal growth. Expect the unexpected.

i always believed love should be a selfless act but sometimes its hard to be selfless when the other person is not returning the same love.
