The Rhino Way of Life

Maybe we’re unique, but where I live, Blue Rhino is more than just a line of products. It’s a way of life.

First of all, half of us live out in the country…and I mean out in the country. On farms and ranches, way back in the hills. Back where you don’t get city gas, sewer, or electric lines. Folks living out there heat their homes with Blue Rhino propane and all the Blue Rhino propane supplies they need. It’s just a given.

On top of that, most of the people around here are hunters, whether they live out in the country or not. For many people, hunting provides a significant percentage of their food every year. If they don’t eat it themselves, they donate it or give it to neighbors; my husband is the vice-president of the food pantry, and every autumn they give out hundreds of packages of deer, pheasant, and wild turkey. They have colorful artistic mosaic tiles around the edge, and even if you never used them they’d be an ideal yard or patio decoration. But you can use them for cooking or warmth, too.

I know that a nature-oriented, self-sufficient lifestyle is one that many people talk about but few people ever get up the gumption to live out. Where I live, it’s just how things are.
