Getting A Response – Online Dating

Online dating can be difficult but knowing how to communicate to someone
online is just as in person. The things you would never say to someone
in person should hold true on that keypad.

If you are interested in getting a response back from someone that sounds interesting with or without a picture here are some steps to making a good impression.

First off, do NOT let your first message demand to see her or his picture. Just because they do not have their picture up does not mean that they are unattractive. How many have made that assumption? There are safety issues meeting people online and people have boundaries on what they want to share. Respect it.

Make sure to read his or her profile. Don’t just send off a message that says “Hi, I’m so and so, how is this online dating stuff going for you?” You can capture someone’s attention by being humorous and showing that you read their profile. Let’s say someone said they love the winter but can’t wait until the summer to camp. You can say “It’s nice to see someone who enjoys the cold but have you ever tried winter camping? I heard it’s definitely not the same but the snowmen seem to love it.” With that you may get a response vs. all the generic message he or she receives.

Stand out in your own way but definitely be in the right category of what you are looking for. It’s definitely disrespectful if someone is sending the wrong kinds of messages without even reading what someone is looking for.
