True Love Waits

Waiting may be defined as a moment in time where one is asked to cease what ever he or she may be doing. In love, the word “wait” is also a tool for our love. Waiting could be a test. Waiting could redefine what kind of love we really have for our partner.
Each one of us yearns to be beside the bearer of our passions. Each one of us craves for even just a light stroke of our loved one’s hand; a quick glance at our partner’s eyes; even just the sound of our loved one uttering the words, “I love you.” But what if, in one moment, all these could be put to a halt? What if our partner asks us to take time away from each other, to put the relationship on a so called “pause” to re-evaluate things? Of course this isn’t the only reason for a sudden halt of intimacy. Another instance could be a business trip that would not permit physical touch or verbal communication between two lovers.
When we are faced with these situations, what are we to do? How do we cope with the situation? First of all, do not see this stage in a relationship as something that is to be abhorred. It is an opportunity for us to improve ourselves for our own good and our partner’s. During this time of “waiting”, we are given the chance to think about how true our love really is for our partner. It is a time for us to rethink on how compatible we really are with our partner. It is an opening for us to know if we are truly happy with our present state.
If after all the time of “waiting”, we still believe in our love for our partner and we are able to wait as long as it takes, then that is true love. Waiting was a chance for you to see the world without your partner. If you realize that a world without your partner is an empty world, then maybe your partner is your accurate definition of true love. True love waits no matter how long it may take.
