Flames of Love Extinguished

You used to be someone I really wanted to pursue. I wanted you to be mine but did not force the issue. I revealed to you my true inner feelings and took the outcome as a man. But as years passed, it seems that everything has vanished and all I have is a memory of the good times, the beauty of your smile and the innocent look which I thought was sincere.

But today is different. It has been said that time heals all wounds and now I begin to understand what it really means. It is not pure cliché. It is indeed something that exists and the only way to find is to continue existing.

Don’t get me wrong. I cherish the memories we had. We have gone our own separate ways and are fulfilling our careers. But what is important we are happy where we are. That is the most important thing in life…being happy.

Happiness can be defined in many ways. I define it as something like settling down with someone who will appreciate me for who I am and someone to which I can work hard for. There are no regrets on this not being you. But it just keeps playing on my mind on what could have been.

We are in the twilight of our lives. Our paths may cross again or maybe even not. But what is important is we had our good times. The possibility was there. On whether it meant something to you or not is entirely reserved to your own thinking. As far as I am concerned, life is just something worth living indeed. But memories will be treasures that cannot be replaced in the same way that our times have been put there as well.

Be well and look at tomorrows with a positive light. All of us have our dreams and much of these will be granted at times we least expect them. That is the magical privilege of the beauty of existence in this lifetime and the next.
