Free Online Dating Site Caters to Singles Over Forty

couple2smallGlobal Commerce & Communication Inc. has launched the Midlife Dating Network, a new dating Web site designed especially for singles in their 40s and beyond.

“We created this Web site when we saw that there were no online dating sites for midlife singles that were straightforward, easy to use as well as free or low-cost,” said Zinia Rehana, co-founder of GCCI and the network. “Many of these individuals are re-entering the dating scene after a long absence, so they feel a certain amount of apprehension. Rather enduring sites that waste their time with marketing gimmicks or siphon away their money with list fees and hidden charges, midlife singles deserve a site that makes connecting with other singles as easy as possible.”

According to Rehana, many other dating sites offer free memberships without detailing the extent of the features offered. After a lengthy signing up process, singles discover that some features, such as viewing full profiles or contacting other members, are only accessible if they “upgrade” to paid membership. “Instead of having to pay for upgrades, Midlife Dating Network members obtain everything they need to connect with other members from the moment they create their profile,” stated Rehana. In addition, members do not have to pay yearly renewal fees, and there is no expiration date for their profile.

Each network member has an entire Web page dedicated to their profile listing. Profiles typically include members’ gender, age, general geographic location, occupation, height, weight, plus any personal information that the member chooses to share. Members can also add pictures of themselves and update their profile at any time.

Each listing includes a “Send a Message” inquiry form that enables singles to contact each other without giving out personal information. When individuals find someone that they would like to date, they can type a greeting into the form, and the message will be e-mailed to the person in which they are interested without the recipient’s e-mail address being revealed. Recipients will then contact their prospective date via the email address provided in the initial message.

In addition, the site contains a “Dating Advice” section that provides members with tips and guidelines on how best to create profiles, contact and get to know interesting prospects, arrange for a first date and so on. “Many older singles are very interested in dating, romantic relationships and even remarriage,” said Rehana. “And with the Internet, they can connect in just a few keystrokes and mouse clicks.”
