Mending a Broken Heart

How does one heal his or her broken heart? This is probably the most difficult part of each one’s love life. This is because of the leftover feelings within each one and the memories and everyday things one used to do with a partner. It’s not solely how special our partner was, it can be how we got used to a certain way of living; a way that we always have someone to talk to or be with.

So what can one do? There is no definite or universal way for a person to mend a broken heart. There are a few things one person naturally does after having his or her heart broken.

1. Rebound – A lot of people look for a substitute for our previous partner. Although he or she is not the same person, the feeling of having someone will be there once again. That is what I talked about earlier about just getting used to having someone.

2. Setting aside the previous feelings – This method could go both ways. One scenario could lead to eventual deterioration of feelings. On the other hand, the feelings could just stay stagnant but alive. They could eventually lead to a rekindling. This might just lead us to having a harder time to mend our hearts.

3. Facing the present situation and not be afraid – Last but not the least, personally, I believe this is how one should face a broken heart. We have to learn to accept the reality of having a broken heart. We shouldn’t deny it from happening and create alternative dimensions. We have to face the situation straightforward. We have to take time and think about what happened. This way, we will be able to analyze what has happened and our eventual process of healing our broken heart.
