What is the True “True Love”?

There comes a time in our life when we look at our past relationships. We ask ourselves, which is true love; is it loving a person we never chose or imagined ourselves to be loving or is it loving a person based on our own decision?

The answer to these questions are very arguable. Responses may differ for every person. On one hand, people may say that the first option is the answer. This is because when you don’t choose to love a person but you still end up doing so, it shows how strong your feelings are for a person. There are times when we choose not to fall in love for a person but the feeling is just too strong for us to push away. This kind of relationship is usually one that leaves a lasting impression because you never chose to have it so how could you choose to let it go?

On the other hand, others say that when you are able to choose for yourself to truly love a person, then that is true love. These people may say that love isn’t only an emotion, it is a decision as well. You can only truly love a person when you choose to do so. It is about being aware and being able to accept your true feelings so that you could transform that love into something you could give to one person.

To be honest, both answers could be considered correct. We are only able to give these answers because we are basing our answers from what we know; we are only using our heads or imaginations. The reason why no one is really able to give a definite answer is that true love differs from one person to another. A love experience for one person may come out to be different for another. We aren’t capable of being in both experiences at the same time. We are only able to live and go through those one at a time. What is true for us would most likely be what we are facing in the present.
